Foli support
Help with your Foli library
Foli is currently in development for Mac. This page covers the core library, recovery, editing, and export workflow and will be updated as the signed release is finalized.
Contact
Email brandon@brandonptdavis.com or use the contact form.
Include your Mac model, macOS version, the action you were taking, and a screenshot when useful. Do not send private project images unless necessary.
System requirements
The final supported macOS versions will be posted here before the signed Mac App Store release. Foli is a native Mac application and is not currently offered for iPhone or iPad.
Importing and backing up
Foli imports only the photos and files you select from Photos or Finder into its own managed library. Keep a current backup of your Mac and Foli library using your normal backup system. Production iCloud synchronization will not be promised until the signed CloudKit configuration and conflict testing are complete.
Restoring Recently Deleted media
Open Recently Deleted in Foli, select the item, and choose Restore before the retention period ends. Restoring returns the managed item to the library without changing your Apple Photos library.
Export troubleshooting
Confirm that the destination has enough free space and that Foli has permission to write there. If a format is unavailable for the selected media, try JPEG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC, or another supported format and verify the dimensions and filename settings.
External editors
Foli prepares a managed working copy for an external editor. Save the edited file normally, then return to Foli to continue the import or update workflow. The managed original remains recoverable.
Reopening the main window
If the main Foli window has been closed while the app remains open, choose Window > Show Foli Window from the macOS menu bar.
Response
